What is Powerlifitng

Powerlifting is both a strength focused style of training and a sport. Powerlifting style training focuses on developing total body strength through compound multi-joint strength training systems. The sport of powerlifting tests your absolute strength in the Big Three Barbell lifts: The Squat, The Bench Press, & The Deadlift.

The Squat

Perhaps the most foundational movement anyone can do with our without a barbell. Everyone squats nearly every day - simply sitting and standing is a squat. Powerlifting squats just do that with a barbell!

The Deadlift

Total body strength and mental toughness built into one movement. Lifting a heavy weight off the floor is among the great displays of a person's true strength and grit.

Absolute Strength is tested by the heaviest weight you can lift for 1 rep, otherwise known as you 1 Rep-Max (1RM). Growing your 1RM is ultimately the #1 goal of powerlifting despite only testing that 1RM 2-3x per year.
